We seek System Engineers with demonstrated experience in automotive standards, with a focus on advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and automated driving systems (ADS).
The candidate is expected to directly contribute to design activities and develop innovative solutions and participate in evolving international and national standards development related to driving automation, with focus on technical aspects such as sensor interfaces, perception, sensor fusion, execution of Dynamic Driving Task (DDT) within Operational Design Domain (ODD), transitions of control, Verification and Validation (V&V). Experience in cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in ADAS/ADS is beneficial. The aim is to define technical guidelines and requirements, identify preferred changes/updates to existing standards, and influence the direction of emerging standards to maximize alignment with company products and strategic direction.
As a result of those, the candidate is expected to develop technical contributions, give high quality presentations of them in organizations such as SAE International, ISO, IEEE, AVCC, and 5GAA, work to obtain consensus, proactively promote Qualcomm technologies, and protect Qualcomm’s interest in the emerging areas.
Regular attendance to some of the aforementioned organizations is a likely part of the job. Consequently, the candidate is expected to be available to travel frequently for week-long meetings (on average, 6 to 8 week-long meetings per year are to be expected, including both domestic and international destinations as determined by the specific organization).
The candidate will operate in collaboration with different groups and colleagues within the company, including those affiliated with research, engineering/development, products, business, and government affairs. The candidate will work in an exciting environment with a team of some of the brightest systems engineers in the industry and will have frequent interaction with other engineering disciplines.
