The UvA-Bosch Delta Lab 2 showcased its finest machine learning research

The Delta Lab 2 Showcase aimed to highlight the cutting-edge research produced through a successful collaboration between the University of Amsterdam and Bosch, as one of the key industry players in the AI ecosystem and an important supporter of the unit’s works. The ELLIS unit Amsterdam seeks to further promote quality AI research conducted locally in collaboration with different industry partners.

The UvA-Bosch Delta Lab 2 Showcase was organized by the ELLIS unit Amsterdam and the Delta Lab 2.The event was officially opened with a welcome remark by the lab’s Director, Jan-Willem van de Meent. At the special occasion, ten inspiring scientific posters were showcased and two of the lab’s PhD candidates presented their impressive works. Alexander Timans presented on uncertainty quantification for bounding boxes via conformal prediction, while Melis Öcal shared her research on RealDiff, a real-world 3D shape completion using self-supervised diffusion models. The showcase concluded with an insightful talk by Michael Pfeiffer, the Head of the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence, on applications of generative AI at Bosch.
