Celebrating the outstanding research of the Amsterdam AI ecosystem at NeurIPS Fest 2022

The ELLIS Unit Amsterdam saw an opportunity to put a spotlight on the Amsterdam AI ecosystem’s outstanding works which were accepted at the 36th Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems (NeurIPS). At the same time, the Unit intended to provide an avenue for the local ecosystem to meet, interact, and discuss cutting-edge works in AI. With these in mind, the NeurIPS Fest 2022 was initiated. The event was successfully held at the heart of talent development and digital innovation, Lab42, on 24 November 2022, a few days before the 36th NeurIPS Conference took place in New Orleans. This preview party of the NeurIPS papers generated massive interest with over 100 people attending, demonstrating a high level of interest in the latest research of AI and machine learning in Amsterdam. The NeurIPS Fest was able to facilitate networking and candid conversation accompanied by bites and drinks among different groups within the AI ecosystem of Amsterdam, with a total of 35 posters showcased. These posters are noteworthy works of Masters, PhDs, Postdocs, Faculty members, and industry researchers of Microsoft, and Qualcomm Technologies. Zeta Alpha, one of the companies based in Lab42, also presented its works at the event. See the list of posters that were showcased at the event here.
