DynaLearn for teaching Qualitative Reasoning to future computer scientists

DynaLearn has been recently used at Universidad Polit├ęcnica de Madrid (UPM) in one of the AI-related subjects (Reasoning Models – “Modelos de Razonamiento”). In this subject, taught to last-year students on the degree of Computer Science, causal qualitative reasoning is explained as part of the course. As one of the activities, the students were asked to model the behaviour of a system of their choice, using DynaLearn as modelling tool. This year, the systems modelled by the students included a battle field, the management of a bar, the life cycle of a star, the trout population in a river, a steam powered propulsion plant, a snow canon of a ski resort, and even a guitar concert. Imagination has no limits for new generations!
