Abstract
The paper deals with segmentation of a video clip into independently moving visual objects. This is an important step in structuring video data before storing in multimedia databases. The method follows the region merging approach. The major contribution is a new robust method for merging regions based on a new well founded similarity measure. The improvements have been confirmed by the experimental results.
