Qualcomm is taking its traditional strengths in digital wireless technologies into exciting new fields such as Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). Come, join the team that helped Qualcomm win Innovative VR Company of the Year at AIXR’s 4th Annual VR Awards.

The XR Perception R&D team investigates and develops the fundamental perception systems enabling self-contained XR platforms such as VR and AR headsets. We are growing our team to push the boundaries of mobile perception technology in order to offer a comprehensive platform to our customers.

Candidates bring a deep understanding of machine learning algorithms that are necessary building blocks of interactive, real-time, and immersive systems, including SLAM, 3D pose tracking, 3D scene understanding, human pose tracking, sensor fusion and mathematical optimization. Ideally, they also have experience in designing solutions and implementations for real-time embedded and mobile platforms.

  • Participate in exciting new initiatives, solve problems, grow technical insight and deliver energy efficient, high-quality 3D computer vision algorithms
  • Collaborate across functional boundaries in defining architecture, APIs, design and schedule

Required skills:

  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and deep networks
  • Experience with solving computer vision tasks using Machine Learning approaches and Neural Networks
  • Experience implementing DL algorithms in high-level languages (e.g. C++, MATLAB, or Python)
  • Experience using machine learning toolboxes (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Caffee)
  • 3+ years of industry experience is required

Preferred skills:

  • Master of Science with 3 years of industry experience or PhD
  • Experience in software development, incl. testing and debugging on mobile platforms or other embedded systems
  • Excellent C++ and object-oriented programming
  • CS or EE degree with focus on deep learning and/or computer vision
