About us

Roles & responsibilities

We are a dedicated team working across multiple continents developing Qualcomm’s core AI capabilities. Our projects lie on the spectrum of fundamental to applied research, including the following research areas:


  • Efficient Networks: Neural network design, compression, quantization, algorithms, architecture search, and SW/HW co-design
  • Perception: Computer vision using cameras, radar, ultrasonic and other sensors
  • Personalization: Continuous learning, model adaptation, and privacy-preserving distributed learning
  • Efficient learning: Robust learning through minimal data, unsupervised learning, and on-device learning
  • Data compression: Deep generative models trained to compress audio, images, and video
  • Wireless: Deep learning and neural augmentation for signal transmission, receiver processing and propagation channel analysis
  • Combinatorial optimization: Neural Augmentation and Deep Reinforcement Learning

Your research might include development of new fundamental methods in the areas mentioned above or related new topics fitting your background. As an Intern you will work closely with researchers that have published at major conferences, including Prof. Dr. Max Welling.

Students should be mid-study looking for work experience or a mandatory internship towards completing their degree.

Minimum Qualifications: M.S. in Computer Science or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications: PhD candidate with experience in machine learning and deep learning research projects. Strong programming skills and working knowledge of deep learning tools such as Pytorch or Tensorflow. Publications in top tier conferences and journals, including NeurIPS, CVPR, ICCV, ICML, ICLR, ACL, ICRA.

Education Requirements: PhD student in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering. Please include graduation date and projected grades in your resume.
